Castello di Tavolese              

Tavolese Castle is a Norman castle and once belonged to one of Florence’s most famous noble families, Farinata degli Umberti. Today, the owner, Clemente Carlo Kaiser offers refined accommodation in the farmhouse a few steps from the castle. Renovated to excellent standards, the apartments retain their original features such as exposed oak beams and terracotta flooring. Breathtaking views look onto the Tavolese Castle’s Chianti vineyards and olive groves.

Although guests have their own self-catering accommodation, they are also provided with a daily breakfast basket and bedmaking/cleaning service. All accommodation has direct dial telephone and satellite television. Guest’s are invited to visit the castle’s private chapel.

Position: Florence is approximately 30km, Siena 45km and the famous towered city of San Gimignano just a 20 minute ride. The nearest village is Marcialla, 2km, where there is daily evening street entertainment during the Summer months. Tavarnelle, a well known Chianti town, is 5km away where there is a highly recommended restaurant.

Accommodation on (10 steps up to) the first floor with a large lounge/dining room with open fire and windows looking onto beautiful countryside. Fully equipped separate kitchen with oven/hob. Double bedroom with ceiling fan. Bathroom with twin sink, bath-tub and shower-fixture.

Accommodation on (5 steps up to) the first floor comprising a lounge with open-fire and superb view onto Chianti countryside. Single sofa-bed. Separate kitchen/dining room suitable for preparing light meals (2 ring hob, ‘fridge and microwave). Double bedroom and bathroom with bath-tub, shower cubical and hairdryer. Stairs to tower: double bedroom with lovely views. Ceiling fan.

Biancospino, 4 persons

Lounge with open-fire. Separate kitchen/dining room suitable for preparing light meals (2 ring hob, ‘fridge and microwave). Two double bedrooms each with ceiling fans. Bathroom with bath-tub and shower fixture.

Exterior: Sun terrace and areas for eating outside equipped with sun-umbrellas. Extensive landscaped gardens surround the castle and farmhouse. Indoor and outdoor swimming pool (indoor pool is heated in the Winter). Turkish bath with hydro-massage.

Extra information: Price supplements to be paid on arrival: cot and high-chair, extra beds for children up until 12 years old, laundry service, and Bike hire are all available for a fee (Please ask for pricing if required). Beds can be made up in most cases as twins or doubles, please check when booking. Arrival between 5pm and 7pm. Please departure up before 11am.
