Radda is a splendid hill-top town with cobbled streets and a good choice of restaurants and bars. In the summer months there is often street evening entertainment such as dancing and craft fairs. Nearby, one can visit Greve, Chianti’s capital town and many other places of interest featured in our guide ‘Essential Chianti’.
The owners offer guests hospitality in a detached converted stone built barn renovated to excellent standards opposite their own farm-house. Very early booking is advised for this highly desirable property and we are happy to accept bookings on behalf of the owners one or two years in advance. The barn and the Il Pornanino’s special olive oil have recently featured in the magazine ‘Food Illustrated’ and The Sunday Times Travel Section. Copies of these articles are available from us on request.
Interior: The barn is completely refurbished to excellent standards throughout with antique furniture and many ‘extras’. Open plan lounge/dining room with an open fire. The well equipped kitchen is situated up three steps on the next level of the barn. There are two double bedrooms and a study with a sofa bed that converts into a single bed. The property has two bathrooms, one with a tub and the other with a shower cubicle.
Exterior: Terrace and gardens with tables and chairs for eating out, swimming pool 12 x 6 metres with sun loungers. Large built in barbecue. There are no other guests sharing the swimming pool although the owners occasionally may use it.
Further
Information: The owners offer guests the use of their washing
machine. Breakages deposit is required on arrival approximately
£90. This may be paid in Sterling/Euro/Travellers cheque. The owners
produce their own excellent olive oil and invite their guests to
spend an entertaining few hours in the estate’s seminar room and
grounds for an unusual ‘olive oil tasting’ meeting.
