La Casa                     

Along a quiet country lane between the two historic towns of Radda and Gaiole in Chianti, is ‘La Casa’, a small group of 18th century stone-built farmhouses lovingly renovated by Marisa and Sandro Forcheri.

La Casa is immaculately furnished with antique furnishings throughout, complimenting the characteristic terracotta floor tiles and exposed wooden beams. We were particularly impressed by the homely feel of the accommodation and the attention to detail. The owners have furnished La Casa with great consideration, providing many ‘extras’. There is accommodation offered for 3 groups of persons. Cipressi and Gelso are reached through the original courtyard of the main farmhouse, whilst ‘Il Fico’ is a detached, converted nearby barn.

Position: ‘La Casa’ is situated 150 metres along an unsurfaced road. Florence is approximately 50km, Siena 28km, Radda 5km and Gaiole 2.5km. Other places of interest nearby include Brolio Castle (8km), Cavriglia zoo and park (6km), organised cedar wood trails and a highly recommended restaurant at the famous Abbey of Coltibuono (3km).

I Cipressi, 4/5 persons, ground/first floor Ground floor: open-plan room with dining area, arch to fully fitted kitchen, lounge with television. Doors to private, furnished patio. Stairs to first floor (please note unsuitable for young children no hand rail present). First floor: twin bedroom with single gallery bedroom. Bathroom with shower. Double bedroom with ornate antique wooden bed-frame.

Il Gelso, 4/5 persons, first floor Cosy lounge with television, open fire and upholstered settee/chairs. Arch to kitchen/dining room. Double bedroom, bathroom with shower, twin bedroom with doorway to small single bedroom. Private outside eating area.

Il Fico, 6/8 persons An independent barn near the swimming pool area situated on two floors. Large open plan room with lounge/dining area and fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher. Small open fire. Patio doors to private outside terrace with panoramic views. Double bedroom with bathroom (tub/shower fixture). Small laundry room with washing machine. First floor: gallery lounge with television, double sofa-bed. Two bathrooms with showers. There are two bedrooms that can be made up as doubles or twins. Please let us know your requirements on booking.

Exterior: swimming pool (12 by 6 metres) in a panoramic position overlooking rolling hills covered with vineyards and olive groves. The surrounding terrace is furnished with sun-loungers.

Further information: all linen is provided except towels for use at the pool. Arrival time between 3 and 7pm. Please let us know if this is not convenient and we will arrange a different arrival time on your behalf. There is the use of a washing machine for guests to Il Gelso and I Cipressi, whilst Il Fico has its own laundry room.
