Podere Ensoli

Podere Ensoli is a private estate at the end of an unsurfaced road (approximately 4km). There is a 15 minutes drive to reach the main country road and the famous Vallombrosan Abbey, Badia A Coltibuono. In the grounds of the abbey there is a highly recommended restaurant and beautiful cedar tree woods with organised trails for walking.

There are three characteristic detached stone buildings on the estate, refurbished to excellent standards. Each property has satellite television and there is a washing machine available for guest’s use.

The nearest large town to Podere Ensoli is Gaiole in Chianti (7km), a well known medieval Chianti town especially famous for its picturesque piazza. Here and around Gaiole there are a number of restaurants, bars, wine enotecas, supermarkets, banks and chemists. Gaiole has tennis courts and mountain bikes can be hired nearby.

Amongst the places of interest in the area, apart from Florence and Siena is the beautiful Brolio Castle, home to the first Chianti wine and Visterenni, one of Chianti’s most photographed villas, famous for its beautiful facade. Also nearby, at the Cavriglia nature reserve (10 km), there is a picnic area under fir trees and a zoo.

The swimming pool can be found in a magnificent position approximately 12 meters from the main farmhouse buildings. There are breathtaking views to be enjoyed from the pool and surrounding area. The pool itself is newly built (12 by 6 meters in size) bordered by a terrace and furnished with sunloungers and umbrellas. Guests to Podere Ensoli also have their own private furnished outside areas next to their accommodation.

Canaiolo - 4/6 persons

Canaiolo is a detached and characteristic stone built farmhouse suitable for four to six persons. Ground floor: two double bedrooms (one of which is a twin). Bathroom with shower. First floor: open plan kitchen/dining room and lounge area with a double sofa-bed.

There is a large sunny, furnished terrace leading out from the kitchen/lounge area of the property for sole use of guests to Canaiolo.

Sangiovese - 5/7 persons

Situated on the first floor of a stone-built farmhouse, Sangiovese will accommodate 5 to 7 persons. The property has a separate kitchen, lounge with the original open-fireplace and double sofa-bed, two double bedrooms, one single bedroom and 2 bathrooms.

The main entrance leads down just a few steps to a private courtyard suitable for eating outside/sitting in the evening. The courtyard has the original bread-oven which guests may use for pizza baking.

Malvasia - 2 adults & 2 children

A ground floor apartment in the main stone-built farmhouse. Malvasia is suitable for a couple or family of four persons who have children able to sleep on bunk beds. Open plan kitchen/dining room with a lounge area. One double bedroom, one bedroom with bunk-beds. Bathroom with shower.

Guests to Malvasia have sole use of the original covered pergola-terrace furnished with tables and chairs and suitable for eating/sitting. The pergola is situated outside the entrance to Malvasia from which one can enjoy good views onto sweeping Chianti countryside.

Il Pozzo - 2 persons

A detached converted barn providing accommodation ideal for two persons seeking extra privacy.

Ground floor: double bedroom with en-suit bathroom leading onto a patio terrace with lovely views onto the surrounding countryside. First floor: open-plan kitchen/dining room and lounge. There is a private garden area with a pergola seating area for sole use of guests to Il Pozzo.

Trebbiano - 2 persons

A ground floor apartment situated in the main stone-built farmhouse. Open-plan kitchen/dining and lounge area. Double bedroom, bathroom with shower. Furnished terrace for sole use of guests to Trebbiano. Good views.
